Volta Infra Secures $300M Funding, Signs $10B AI Cloud Deal

Volta Infra closes $300M round led by a16z and Altimeter, backed by NVIDIA and Michael Dell. A $10B six-year cloud contract with Bitdeer aims to support AI developers using Norwegian data centers.

Woofun AI reports that AI cloud infrastructure firm Volta Infra Holdings has completed a $300 million venture financing round. Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital led the investment, with participation from NVIDIA and Michael Dell. The company also announced a $10 billion, six-year cloud computing service agreement with an unnamed top AI developer. This deal will be executed in partnership with Bitdeer, leveraging its 133 megawatt data center in Norway.

Additionally, Volta has access to a $5 billion customer financing pool designed to help small and medium-sized AI firms acquire high-end NVIDIA chips. Founded earlier this year by Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio, Volta has secured 1 gigawatt of data center power capacity and intends to expand facilities in Texas and Wyoming, targeting multi-gigawatt hash rate deployment by 2030.
