Blockspace Secures BlueYard-Led Funding to Upgrade Ethereum Off-Protocol Infrastructure
New entity Blockspace raises capital from BlueYard Capital and others to enhance Ethereum off-protocol infrastructure, aiming to address gaps in reliability and economic models for global blockspace access.
Woofun AI reports that Ethereum infrastructure firm Blockspace has been established to optimize off-protocol infrastructure and expand global application access to Ethereum blockspace. The company identifies that over 90% of global Ethereum blockspace traffic depends on external infrastructure, which currently exhibits deficiencies in economic models, reliability, performance, and service capabilities.
Blockspace completed a funding round led by BlueYard Capital, with participation from ether.fi Ventures, Quasar, SharpLink Gaming, and other institutions. The firm plans to collaborate with the Blockspace Forum and the broader Ethereum community to accelerate off-protocol infrastructure development. Its business model is entirely reliant on ETH, involving staking operations to earn transaction fee rewards from generated blocks, with proceeds reinvested into further staking.
