Here's exactly what I told him. 3 months before you open the round: → Ask your investors if you have the numbers first → Fix any cap table issues now, not later → Build a list of 50+ target investors → Mark as many of them that u have warm intros to or know → Get ruthless feedback on your deck and data room → Prepare to be on a plane for 2 months in NYC, SF, London, Singapore (forget holidays, birthdays, personal time) By the time you open the round, investors should already know your name.
