@0xStratos @Heypocket Apps are good for work meetings which encompass most of the demand today. Devices are good for always-on context gathering which I have a feeling will become more and more prevalent. The same question goes for why use meta glasses over your phone camera.

I'm moreso interested in learning how to utilize the system to its fullest potential. The scoped workflows work great for eliminating any potential entropy that could interfere with actions we ask the bot to take. I've come to the opinion that the "multi-agent" tag system is overly skeuomorphic when a single tag can context switch like Centaur does. Curious if you agree? I see there's the option to add "personas" but I haven't played around with this yet. I've found the pre-installed libraries (e.g. Granola, Harmonic) to be intelligence boosters when the associated API is plugged in, but workflows still need to be custom built for what we're doing. Is this the right mental model? I'm pushing a big update soon, so I'll have more reactions this week. Happy to discuss more!

Finally got my @Heypocket and I'm already a big fan. Everything about it feels like an Apple product, from the packaging to the onboarding and UI. I also like that it doesn't try to be stealth like other devices. All colors are bright and metallic and it literally says "Pocket" across the device. Compared to @PLAUDAI it DOES NOT save the recording after transcription which is what I (and compliance) like about @meetgranola. If you're on the paid subscription, you can export your data which is useful for agentic tinkering and data science experiments (they also have an API). A clear missing piece versus Plaud and Granola is the lack of community summary templates / template customization which would not only be useful but add network effects to the product. I haven't yet tried it in a group setting, but I'm excited to see how accurate the auto-detect is for speaker names. At @variantfund we record all our IC meetings & discussion forums and are in the early stages of building a self-updating knowledge base. Associating our dialogue with each team member would be a massive upgrade for personalization capabilities. Granola has noticeably been absent from the hardware market. From my experience, the leverage is in IRL transcription accuracy. I've also noticed a group of users benefiting from the lack of bulk to embed the device in more comfortable locations. Prior to LLMs, only big tech could know everything about you in a meaningful way. LLMs are the value unlock for personal data collection. I suspect mass consumer adoption will come when it's seamless for you and only you to own the data you collect. I've found a few teams building in this direction, but not many.
