These figures represent a significant deceleration from historical emission trends.

The core mechanic involves adjusting token emission rates to lower new issuance, which directly reduces the volume of tokens distributed as staking rewards.

However, this scarcity in circulating supply is expected to exert upward pressure on asset prices, potentially offsetting the decline in staking income through capital appreciation.

This creates a divergent impact for different holder categories: non-staking holders of ETH and SOL may benefit from reduced supply pressure without bearing the cost of lower yields, whereas stakers face a trade-off between diminished reward rates and potential price gains.
