E*Trade Launches Spot Crypto Trading for BTC, ETH, and SOL

Eligible individual investors can now buy, sell, and hold these three assets. Trade execution is managed by Zero Hash, with a 50 basis point fee (0.5%) applied to each transaction, a rate considered competitive within the retail sector.

Asset transfers in and out of the account are scheduled for later this year.Notably, digital assets are held in a separate Zero Hash account, meaning they lack Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) coverage, a standard disclaimer for such services.

Structurally, this move expands on Morgan Stanley’s prior Bitcoin funds access, targeting a broader retail audience. By limiting initial offerings to high-liquidity assets with established market presence, the firm aims to mitigate volatility and regulatory risks associated with smaller altcoins.
