Offchain Labs ZK Proof Speed Surges 4,000x With New Zaratan System

Offchain Labs achieves 4,000x proof generation speedup and 5,000x RSA overhead reduction via Zaratan. Arbitrum adopts multi-prover architecture to cut L1 settlement times.

Woofun AI reports that Offchain Labs has detailed advancements in zero-knowledge proof technology, including proof acceleration and verifiable AI. The updated vector commitment scheme reduces proof generation time for 64,000 data points from two minutes to 32 milliseconds, representing a 4,000-fold speed increase. The new Zaratan system enables compact integer proofs, lowering RSA computational overhead by approximately 5,000 times.

Additionally, lightweight verification protocols shorten large model inference verification from minutes to milliseconds. Arbitrum is implementing a multi-prover architecture integrating ZK proofs, fraud proofs, and TEEs to remove single points of failure and decrease L1 settlement duration.
