Base USDC Theft Yields Only 26% Value After MEV Sniping

Attacker stole $500K USDC on Base but lost over half to MEV bots during conversion, receiving just $129K in WETH due to poor slippage settings.

Woofun AI reports that an attacker transferred approximately 500,000 USDC from a victim wallet on the Base chain. During the subsequent attempt to convert these funds, the attacker’s lack of adequate slippage protection triggered MEV bot interference. Consequently, the perpetrator received only about 67 WETH, valued at roughly $129,000, losing more than half the stolen amount.
