AI Infrastructure Investment Surges to $70T, Creating Six-Figure Blue-Collar Jobs
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang projects $70T in AI infrastructure spending by decade end, driving demand for skilled trades like electricians and plumbers with high salaries.
Woofun AI reports that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated at the World Economic Forum that the current wave of AI infrastructure construction represents the largest in human history. He emphasized that this expansion will generate numerous high-paying technical roles for workers without college degrees, including electricians, plumbers, and steelworkers.
Huang noted that global tech companies are expected to invest approximately $70 trillion in AI infrastructure by the end of this decade. This capital influx addresses a significant labor shortage, with McKinsey data indicating the U.S. needs 130,000 additional electricians, 240,000 construction workers, and 150,000 construction supervisors by 2030. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink echoed these sentiments, highlighting the critical role of skilled trades in building and operating large AI data centers.
